Cinnamon Stick Gift Toppers
It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
I made these simple gift toppers for a few gifts under the tree this year. I love wrapping gifts, and taking a little extra time to make them look nice I want the receiver to know that I care about them, and that they are special. These gift toppers use cinnamon sticks that you can buy in the spice aisle at the grocery store. They not only look nice, but also have a subtle lovely fragrance that is natural.
Items Needed
Cinnamon Stick Gift Toppers
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Yarn, string, or thin ribbon of your choosing
- Scissors
- Lo Temp Glue Gun
- Glue Gun Glue sticks
Steps
Cut 5-6 piece of yarn. I cut my yarn in 4 inch strips, and tied each one in the
middle to the cinnamon stick. Tie approximately 5-6 pieces of yarn to each stick. Cut each strand of yarn to make the shape of a tree. Start at the top, and cut the first
strand the shortest. Make each subsequent strand just a touch longer. This will form the tree shape.
Variation on the theme
Mix it up by hot glueing the cinnamon sticks into a triangle (using 3 separate sticks), and then adding a short cinnamon stick piece to the bottom for the tree trunk. Finally, wrap yarn around the triangle portion of the “tree” to complete the look. I wish all that read this Season’s Greetings, and a lovely New Year! To see more craft tutorials go here.
